Friday night football (Sept. 11): Games to watch, 810 Varsity online games and KC area schedule
FRIDAY’S GAMES TO WATCH
GRANDVIEW (2-1) at BELTON (1-2)
Belton hasn’t enjoyed a winning football season since 2007, and Grandview hasn’t had one since 2005, but the expectations are one could be on the horizon.
Grandview opened coach Jeremie Picard’s first season with two wins before stumbling against Grain Valley last week. Bulldogs quarterback Reginald Collier has already thrown seven touchdowns, and five different players have rushed for a score this season.
Belton is still trying to click its spread offense into full gear, though quarterback Justus Shaw has passed for at least one touchdown in every week.
This is the fourth straight season Belton and Grandview will meet on the football field.
Two of the previous three have been decided less than a touchdown.

BLUE VALLEY (1-0) at BLUE VALLEY WEST (0-1)
For the second straight season, the Tigers and Jaguars will start Eastern Kansas League play with a crosstown rivalry game.
Blue Valley’s experience showed in an efficient season opener last week. The Tigers rushed for 381 yards and five touchdowns between Colton McCumber, William Evans and A.J. Totta in a 62-27 victory against SM Northwest. McCumber had a team-high 238 yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries. He also passed for 100 yards.
That could be bad news for Blue Valley West, which gave up two touchdowns on the ground last week in a 35-14 loss to Lawrence. BV West gave up 35 points, including a blocked punt return, before Nathan Wiles connected with Cole Richenburg for a third-quarter touchdown. Wiles also added a rushing touchdown.
