The Storm won the Missouri Class 4, District 14 championship last week. Murphy led the way, averaging 15.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 4.6 steals over the three victories, including a 24-point outing against Grandview in the championship game. Riding a seven-game winning streak, Notre Dame de Sion faces St. Joseph Benton at 6 p.m. Saturday in a Class 4 quarterfinal at the Independence Events Center.

Ballock, who is already getting looks from Division-I programs, led the Cardinals with 21 points — including five three-pointers — in a victory last week against Bishop Ward. He followed that performance with an 18-point game, with three three-pointers, against Osawatomie as Eudora won its substate championship to advance to the Kansas 4A Division II state tournament for the first time since 1997.
