William Jewell's D'Vante Mosby named Great Lakes Valley Conference freshman of the year

William Jewell forward D'Vante Mosby was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference freshman of the year on Wednesday after leading the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding this season.

Mosby averaged 12.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, posting 10 double-doubles in his freshman campaign. Mosby, who is 6-5, was fourth in the conference in rebounding this season.

He helped Fort Osage High School to its first conference championship in 43 years last season.
