Blue Springs South defeated rival Blue Springs for the first time in eight seasons when it pulled away late for a 44-34 victory on Jan. 30. It was a milestone night for Davenport, who recorded the 1,000th point of her career during the game. She scored a game-high 17 points in South’s victory.

Blue Valley North

YEAR:

Basketball

Cook scored 23 points and pulled down seven rebounds last week in Blue Valley North’s victory against Blue Valley Northwest. The victory pushed the Mustangs into first place in the Eastern Kansas League. Cook is averaging 11.4 points and five rebounds per game and is shooting 60 percent from the field.
