The Star’s high school football players of the week for Oct. 23
Missouri: Myles Davis
▪ SCHOOL: Blue Springs South
▪ YEAR: Sophomore
Davis ran for only 75 yards in the first eight games. He surpassed that — and then some — in a 34-14 win against Lee’s Summit last week. Davis rushed for 201 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns for the Jaguars, who have won three of four heading into the district playoffs.

Kansas: Jake Seurer
▪ SCHOOL: Olathe South
▪ YEAR: Senior
Seurer completed 12 of 19 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns last week in a 42-20 victory against Blue Valley Northwest. He also had a rushing touchdown. Through seven games, he has 18 total touchdowns and 1,312 yards of total offense. He also has 64 tackles on defense.
