Rockhurst and Blue Springs South square off in Missouri baseball semifinal Friday

The first Class 6 finalist is in place at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex.

So will it be Rockhurst or Blue Springs South that joins Christian Brothers College in Saturday’s Missouri high school baseball state championship game in Ozark?

We’ll know in a few hours, as the two Kansas City metro programs — Rockhurst’s Hawklets (27-15) and the Jaguars of Blue Springs South (27-10) — were set to square off in the second Class 6 semifinal at 1 p.m. Friday.

The winner advances to meet Christian Brothers College (CBC) at 1 p.m. Saturday for big-school bragging rights in the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s Class 6 finale.

Earlier Friday, in a game that began at 10 a.m., CBC (27-16-1) gained a spot in the state final with a 6-1 semifinal win over Vianney (32-11).

The Class 5 semifinals were still to come on Friday, with Chaminade College Prep (23-14) facing St. Dominic (28-11) at 4 p.m. and Platte County (27-13) taking on Willard (33-8) at 7 p.m.

Three Missouri teams from the Kansas City area have already won state baseball titles this week.

Excelsior Springs beat Orchard Farm 2-0 for the Class 4 crown; Faith Christian Academy edged Portageville 5-4 for the Class 2 title; and Northland Christian shut out St. Elizabeth 10-0 for the Class 1 championship.

Blair Oaks of Springfield claimed the Class 3 state title Thursday evening, beating Duchesne 11-1.

The state baseball tournaments and girls soccer tournaments are the final two MSHSAA-sanctioned events of the 2026 spring seasons for high school sports in the Show Me State.
