It’s a big week for high school state tournaments and championships on both sides of the Missouri/Kansas state line.

Champions will be crowned this weekend in soccer, volleyball and cross country.

First, let’s talk about the cross country championships: The Missouri (MSHSAA) event takes place at the Gans Creek course in Columbia late this week. (Kansas crowned champions last weekend.)

The Class 1 and Class 5 Missouri schools run their finals Friday, while Classes 2, 3 and 4 are Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, the state tournaments for volleyball (in Missouri) and soccer (in Kansas) are ongoing and close to wrapping up their respective schedules.

The Kansas boys soccer championships will be on the line Saturday at sites around the sunflower state. You can check out most recent KSHSAA scores — and remaining schedule — below.

And we’ve yet to mention football. The playoff fields for each state classification in Kansas and Missouri will be winnowed further with high-intensity games Friday evening.

You can check out the full schedule for this week’s Missouri and Kansas postseason high school football games here.
