Halloween haunted houses and horror exhibits aren’t the only places to get a thrill in Kansas City this season.

High school football athletes across the Kansas City metro are putting on exhilarating performances as they inch closer to the district playoffs. Some Johnson County athletes even had the extra thrill of playing in front of Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones on Friday, Oct. 18.

You can now vote on the best performance of the week.

The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote for their favorite student-athlete. The poll will be posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night. The winner is announced each Friday.

To put together the poll, The Star asks high school football coaches around the metro for their nominations and looks at statistics posted by schools on high school sports websites like 810 Varsity and MaxPreps. The Week 6 winner was Basehor-Linwood High School junior Nash Morrison.
