High schools across Kansas and Missouri have officially kicked off their football seasons, and tons of student-athletes have turned in big-time stat sheets. It’s time for you to decide which player had the best performance in the Kansas City area.

For the second season in a row, The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote on their chosen student-athlete. The poll will be posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night, and the winner announced each Friday.

For this poll, The Star asks high school football coaches around the metro for their nominations. This week, we heard from schools from Kansas City, Liberty, Olathe and more.

Every Monday after the games are finished, The Star will ask coaches to submit nominations for their players to be recognized.

Remember to vote early and vote often. You have until midnight Thursday, Sept. 12. Here are your nominees for Player of the Week:
