Liberty’s Everett wins 2 at Missouri high school swimming & diving state championships

Liberty’s Ian Everett was a two-event state champion on Saturday, the final day of action at the 2023 Missouri boys high school swimming and diving championships.

Everett, a senior who has verbally committed to Indiana, blazed to victory in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle events during the MSHSAA Class 2 meet at the City of St. Peters Rec-Plex.

Everett’s winning time in the 50 free was a new Class 2 record: 20.35 seconds. In the 100 free, he swam a time of 44.97.

In the team competition, Rockhurst finished first and Park Hill South third behind runner-up St. Louis University High.
