Another week of high school football has wrapped up and now it’s time to vote for your Player of the Week.

This season, The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote on their chosen student-athlete in the Kansas City area.

Every Monday, after the games are finished, The Star asks high school football coaches around the Kansas City area to nominate players to be recognized. Nominees are included in a poll that is posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night, and the winner announced each Friday.

Last week, readers selected Sumner Academy of Arts & Science senior Jayden Gordon as The Star’s Player of the Week. He was a dual threat in Sumner’s 33-20 win over Wyandotte High School, throwing for 143 yards and two touchdowns and running for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

This week, we heard from schools from Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Grandview and more.

As they say: Vote early and vote often. You have until midnight Thursday night. Here are your nominees for Player of the Week.
