Week 5: Vote now for your Kansas City area high school football player of the week
One more week of high school football in Kansas City has wrapped up and now it’s time to vote for your Player of the Week.
This season, The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote on their chosen student-athlete in the Kansas City area.
Every Monday, after the games are finished, The Star asks high school football coaches around the Kansas City area to nominate players to be recognized. Nominees are included in a poll that is posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night, and the winner announced each Friday.
Last week, readers selected Washington senior Xayver Powell as The Star’s Player of the Week after a game in which he scored through the air, on the ground and forced a fumble on the defensive side of the ball.
This week, we heard from schools from Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Wyandotte, Liberty and more.
