The Kansas and Missouri high school football seasons are both underway after an exciting week.

Now it’s time to vote for your Kansas City area Player of the Week.

This season, The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote on their chosen high school football player of the week. The poll will be posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night, and the winner announced each Friday.

For this poll, The Star is asking high school football coaches around the metro for their nominations. This week, we heard from schools from Kansas City, Weston, Overland Park, Olathe, Leavenworth and more.

Every Monday after the games are finished, The Star will ask coaches to submit nominations for their players to be recognized.

As they say: Vote early and vote often. You have until midnight Thursday night. Here are your nominees for Player of the Week.
