The Kansas City Star partners with 810 Varsity for 2023-24 high school sports coverage

The high school sports season has arrived, and The Kansas City Star is ramping up its coverage in anticipation of a big year ahead.

This season, the Star is partnering with 810 Varsity for Friday night football recaps and scores, a Team of the Week and other features to come.

The cooperative coverage between The Star and 810 Varsity will continue into the winter boys and girls basketball seasons.

“It’s great for the metro area, for additional coverage and exposure for student-athletes,” 810 Varsity’s Chad Rader said. “The more content and accolades ... the better. And no better partner than a Kansas City fixture like The Star.”

Football teams across Missouri open their respective seasons on Friday or Saturday. The Kansas schools will play their first games next week.

Throughout the season, fans and readers can expect to find scores and recaps from numerous football games on both sides of the state line at Kansascity.com and in the print pages of The Star. A weekly Team of the Week will be recognized in collaboration with 810 Varsity.
