The Star’s high school football players of the week for Oct. 9
Missouri: Isaiah Truss
▪ SCHOOL: Raymore-Peculiar
▪ YEAR: Senior
Truss topped the 100-yard mark for the sixth time in seven games and added three touchdowns in a 31-13 win over Blue Springs. In a season in which quarterbacks have drawn the most consideration for the Simone Award, Truss has rushed into the mix with 17 touchdowns. The Panthers are 5-2.

Kansas: Karter Odermann
▪ SCHOOL: St. Thomas Aquinas
▪ YEAR: Junior
In the Saints’ victory last week over Gardner Edgerton, Odermann completed three of seven passes for 36 yards and a touchdown, but he made a bigger difference on the ground with 104 rushing yards in nine carries and two touchdowns. In five games this season, Odermann passed for five touchdowns and ran for six more.
