Smithville, Liberty North, Pleasant Hill earn third place at state soccer tournaments
The Liberty North, Smithville and Pleasant Hill girls high school soccer teams all bounced back from losses in the semifinals with victories for third place in their respective divisions on Saturday.
Liberty North beat Rock Bridge 2-1 for the consolation title in the Class 4 tournament.
Smithville beat Ursuline Academy 2-1 in the Class 5 tourney and Pleasant Hill (18-6) topped Perryville 2-0 in Class 2 action on the final day of the tournaments at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton.
