The Eagle has come up with the top high school athletic programs of all time across every sport in Kansas.

Based on the number of total team state championships, here are the best programs in the Sunflower State.

Note: State championships do not include 2-person or 4-person golf titles won from 1929-79. The data also does not include singles or doubles tennis championships won from 1928-85.

1. St. Thomas Aquinas Saints

The Saints have the most state titles in Kansas at 110, all coming since 1980.

2. Bishop Miege Stags

With 52 state championships in the past 20 years, Miege is up to 106 total.

3. Shawnee Mission East Lancers

Kansas City takes the top three spots as the Lancers have 92 championships.

4. Lawrence Chesty Lions

They won 77 of their 91 titles before the turn of the century.

Exactly 53 of the Spartans’ 89 state titles have come in boys and girls tennis.
