The Star’s high school athletes of the week (June 4)
Nicole Kallenberger
SCHOOL: Lee's Summit West
YEAR: Junior
SPORT: Track and field
Following in her sister's footsteps, Kallenberger broke the Missouri track and field state meet pole vault record last Saturday, when she cleared the bar at 12 feet, 10.5 inches to win the Class 5 state title. That narrowly bested the previous mark of 12-10, which her sister, Brittany Kallenberger, set in 2012.
