The St. Thomas Aquinas and Bishop Miege rivalry game highlights the week four Kansas high school football schedule. Below I predict the results of that game and a few more from around the area.

Week 3 record: 2-3

Overall record: 8-7

Bishop Miege (3-0) at St. Thomas Aquinas (3-0)

These teams have risen to the top of the Eastern Kansas League with undefeated record and some impressive wins under their belts. The Stags are the top ranked team in The Star’s small class poll and defeated Blue Valley last week. The Saints entered the big class poll after a victory against Blue Valley Northwest.

Prediction: Bishop Miege 42, St. Thomas Aquinas 28

Jefferson City Helias (5-0) at St. James Academy (3-0)

St. James Academy is still undefeated but will have a big test against Jefferson City Helias which also has a perfect record. St. James is coming off a 14-0 victory against De Soto and has held opponents to just 21 points. Helias has also been oppressive on defense giving up 14 points or fewer in all five games.

Prediction: Jefferson City Helias 27, St. James Academy 21

Blue Valley Southwest (3-0) at Blue Valley (2-1)

The Timberwolves are still undefeated, but have not seen a team as strong as the Tigers yet. Blue Valley Southwest most recently defeated Gardner Edgerton. Blue Valley suffered its first loss falling to Bishop Miege last week and will be eager to get back in the win column.

Prediction: Blue Valley 24, Blue Valley Southwest 18

Shawnee Mission West (1-2) at Shawnee Mission East (3-0)

Shawnee Mission West bounced back with a big 36-6 victory against Shawnee Mission North but the question is, are they ready for a challenge like Shawnee Mission East? The Lancers have only allowed 16 points in their first three victories and have scored 129.

Prediction: Shawnee Mission East 40, Shawnee Mission West 21

De Soto (1-2) at Tonganoxie (0-3)

De Soto has been shut out the last two weeks against Paola and St. James Academy but could be poised for a return to its winning ways against struggling Tonganoxie. The Chieftains are still looking for a victory but have consistently been scoring 12 or more points per game.

Prediction: De Soto 14, Tonganoxie 12
