SUNFLOWER LEAGUE

1. Shawnee Mission East (3-0, 2-0)

Last week: Defeated Shawnee Mission Northwest 41-6

The Lancers are undefeated and averaging 43 points per game. Gunnar Englund threw for two touchdowns and ran for another.

2. Olathe North (3-0, 2-0)

Last week: Defeated Olathe South 27-26

For the third straight week the Eagles were tied or trailing going into the fourth quarter and again came up with a big victory.

3. Olathe South (2-1, 1-1)

Last week: Lost to Olathe North 27-26

Jake Seurer led the Falcons with three touchdown runs, but they suffered their first loss in a big rivalry game.

4. Lawrence Free State (2-1, 2-1)

Last week: Defeated Lawrence 31-12

Bryce Torneden threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Firebirds defeated their rival.

5. Olathe East (2-1, 1-1)

Last week: Defeated Shawnee Mission South 14-6

The Hawks bounced back from a Week 2 loss with senior linebacker James McGinnis making progress in recovery after collapsing last game.

6. Olathe Northwest (2-1, 2-0)

Last week: Defeated Leavenworth 15-6

Jack Hatzfield and Brendan Watkins each ran for a short touchdown in the win, keeping the Ravens undefeated in league play.

7. Lawrence (1-2, 1-1)

Last week: Lost to Lawrence Free State 31-12

The Chesty Lions lost, but had big success with their running game. JD Woods scored on a 71-yard touchdown run and Trey Moore scored on a 53-yard run.

8. Shawnee Mission South (1-2, 1-2)

Last week: lost to Olathe East 14-6

The Raiders scored first with a 2-yard touchdown run from Matt Hollingsworth but gave up 14 unanswered points.

9. Shawnee Mission West (1-2, 1-2)

Last week: Defeated Shawnee Mission North 36-6

Adam Rellihan threw for two touchdowns and Isaiah Macklin scored on a 30-yard interception return in the victory.

10. Leavenworth (1-2, 0-2)

Last week: lost to Olathe Northwest 15-6

Landry Hodges connected with Isaiah Ross for a touchdown, and the defense came up with a safety in the loss.

11. Shawnee Mission Northwest (1-2, 1-1)

Last week: lost to Shawnee Mission East 41-6

The Cougars ran into the red-hot Lancers and scored just once. It came on a 29-yard interception return by Mitchell Hodson.

12. Shawnee Mission North (0-3, 0-3)

The Indians gave up five consecutive touchdowns before scoring on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Will Schneider to Nick Perez.

EASTERN KANSAS LEAGUE

1. Bishop Miege (3-0, 3-0)

Last week: Defeated Blue Valley 42-21

Dawson Downing scored four TDs for the Stags, the team to beat in the EKL.

2. Blue Valley (2-1, 1-1)

Last week: Lost to Bishop Miege 42-21

Colton McCumber threw for all three of the Tigers’ touchdowns in the loss. He connected with Taylor Debey and Ryan Cyr.

3. Blue Valley West (2-1, 1-1)

Last week: defeated Blue Valley North 42-13

Nathan Wiles threw for three touchdowns and Jackson Clemets added a 66-yard interception return on defense.

4. St. Thomas Aquinas (3-0, 2-0)

Last week: Defeated Blue Valley Northwest 35-7

James Cosentino ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns in 27 carries, helping the Saints stay undefeated.

5. Blue Valley Northwest (1-2, 0-2)

Last week: Lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 35-7

The Huskies gave up five consecutive rushing touchdowns before scoring on a 6-yard run by Zack Zegunis.

6. Blue Valley Southwest (3-0, 2-0)

Last week: Defeated Gardner Edgerton 49-25

Luke Wilmes and Ryan Peroo helped the Timberwolves stayed undefeated with two rushing touchdowns apiece.

7. Blue Valley North (0-3, 0-3

Last week: Lost to Blue Valley West 42-13

The Mustangs gave up five straight touchdowns before scoring on a 6-yard pass from Joey Dolan to Alex Blake.

8. Gardner Edgerton (0-3, 0-2)

Last week: lost to Blue Valley Southwest 49-25

The Trailblazers scored their first points of the season on a 71-yard touchdown run by Colton Mullin. Jadon Pearson-Bruce added two rushing touchdowns.

OTHERS

1. St. James Academy (3-0, Independent)

Last week: defeated De Soto 14-0

Jake Burgmeier ran for 108 yards and a touchdown in 18 carries, helping the Thunder stay undefeated.

2. De Soto (1-2, 0-1)

Last week: lost to St. James Academy 14-0

De Soto suffered its second straight shutout after scoring 70 points in the first game.

3. Spring Hill (1-2, 0-2)

Last week: lost to Ottawa 44-43

Spring Hill outscored Ottawa 22-13 in the fourth quarter but could not complete the comeback.

4. Mill Valley (0-3, Independent)

Last week: lost to Derby 35-14

Mill Valley is still looking for a victory after losses in the first three weeks of the season. The Jaguars have given up 34 or 35 points in each game.
