SUBURBAN GOLD CONFERENCE
1. Lee’s Summit West (5--0, 1--0)
Last week: Defeated Lee’s Summit North 56--21
The Titans’ secondary will be tested when they travel Friday to face Lee’s Summit quarterback Drew Lock.
2. Blue Springs (4--1, 2--0)
Last week: Defeated Lee’s Summit 47--28
The Wildcats had eight sacks, including 3 1/2 from Nebraska commit Carlos Davis.
3. Lee’s Summit (3-2, 1-1)
Last week: Lost to Blue Springs 47-28
The Tigers were more competitive than last year, but they couldn’t match Blue Springs’ size up front.
4. Blue Springs South (1-4, 1-1)
Last week: Lost to Rockhurst 42-0
So much for momentum. The Jaguars followed up their first victory with a dud against a rival.
5. Raymore-Peculiar (3-2, 0-1)
Last week: Defeated St. Joseph Central 42-21
The running game bounced back nicely from a tough outing against Blue Springs South.
6. Lee’s Summit North (1-4, 0-2)
Last week: Lost to Lee’s Summit West 56-21
The offense is starting to make some strides. Now if the defense could catch up...
SUBURBAN RED CONFERENCE
1. Park Hill (5-0, 2-0)
Last week: Defeated Park Hill South 37-7
The Trojans’ offense garners a lot of attention, but the defense has allowed only 11 points per game.
2. Truman (3-2, 3-0)
Last week: Defeated Liberty 31-28
The conference’s greatest surprise — by a long shot — notched its biggest win of a breakthrough season.
3. Park Hill South (1-4, 0-1)
Last week: Lost to Park Hill 37-7
The Panthers close out the regular season with four straight conference foes on the schedule.
4. Liberty (0-5, 0-2)
Last week: Lost to Truman 31-28
A last-minute field goal prevented the Blue Jays from picking up their first win of the season.
5. Ruskin (1-4, 0-1)
Last week: Lost to Kearney 56-14
Since its Week 2 victory, the Eagles have been outscored 145-14 in three weeks.
6. St. Joseph Central (0-5, 0-1)
Last week: Lost to Raymore-Peculiar 42-21
The Indians have allowed more points through five weeks (223) than they gave up all of last year.
SUBURBAN WHITE CONFERENCE
1. Fort Osage (5-0, 2-0)
Last week: Defeated Staley 24-20
Skylar Thompson found Willie Penamon for a game-winning 79-yard touchdown with 2:33 remaining.
2. Staley (3-2, 2-1)
Last week: Lost to Fort Osage 24-20
Recent history suggest the Falcons may earn another shot at Fort Osage in the postseason.
3. Liberty North (3-2, 1-1)
Last week: Defeated Grandview 41-0
The defense return to old habits — posting shutouts. That’s its third in five weeks.
4. Raytown (2-3, 2-1)
Last week: Lost to Raytown South 38-36 (OT)
For the fourth straight season, Raytown lost to its rival by a touchdown or less.
5. Oak Park (2-3, 1-1)
Last week: Lost to Belton 47-7
Tailback Marquis Caldwell, who has run for 950 yards, suffered a separated shoulder in the loss.
6. William Chrisman (1-4, 1-3)
Last week: Defeated North Kansas City 20-9
The Bears picked up the first win of the Scorpio Horn era with their best defensive effort of the year.
7. North Kansas City (0-5, 0-2)
Last week: Lost to William Chrisman 20-9
The offense hasn’t been there for the Hornets, who are struggling to pick up big plays.
SUBURBAN BLUE CONFERENCE
1. Kearney (5-0, 1-0)
Last week: Defeated Ruskin 56-14
The Bulldogs face their top league challengers — Winnetonka and Platte County — over the next two weeks.
2. Platte County (5-0, 1-0)
Last week: Defeated Winnetonka 35-19
Quarterback Justin Mitchell threw for three touchdowns and topped 300 yards in the win.
3. Winnetonka (3-2, 0-1)
Last week: Lost to Platte County 35-19
The Griffins’ schedule doesn’t lighten up. They play host to Kearney on Friday.
4. Raytown South (3-2, 0-1)
Last week: Defeated Raytown 38-36 (OT)
The Cardinals have a knack for the dramatics. They gave up a two-touchdown lead, then prevailed in overtime.
5. Belton (3-2, 1-0)
Last week: Defeated Oak Park 47-7
Quarterback Justus Shaw enjoyed his most efficient output of the season with four total touchdowns.
6. Grandview (1-4, 0-1)
Last week: Lost to Liberty North 41-0
The Bulldogs are set to endure a particularly difficult four-game stretch to close out the regular season.
