St. Teresa’s will play for third place in state volleyball
The Missouri state high school volleyball tournament had its semifinals on Friday in Cape Giradeau in a round-robin format.
In Class 4, St. Teresa’s Academy will play for third place on Saturday after going 0-2-1 on Friday. St. Teresa’s tied its first match against Willard, splitting the two-set match: 25-17 (L), 25-23 (W). But St. Teresa’s then fell to Lafayette 25-9, 25-21 and 25-21 and 25-22 to Eureka. St. Teresa’s is set to play Willard in the third-place match.
In Class 3, Pleasant Hill will also get its chance at third place on Saturday, but Pleasant Hill went 0-3 in Friday’s play: losing 25-14 , 25-14 to Logan-Rogersville, 25-23, 25-17 to Lutheran South, and 27-25, 25-16 to St. Francis Borgia.
In Missouri Class 2, St. Michael the Archangel will play Mountina View Liberty for third place Saturday. St. Michael went 1-2 in the round robin: St. Michael beat Mountain View Liberty 27-25, 25-16, lost to Arcadia Valley 25-12, 25-23 and to Hermann 25-16, 25-17.
In Class 1, West Platte also will play for third place. West Platte went 0-3 Friday: 25-13, 25-18 loss to Calvary Lutheran; 25-16, 25-10 to Advance; 25-22, 25-21 to Billings.
