Missouri state tennis tournament in full swing
Day one of the Missouri girls state individual tennis tournament at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield concluded on Friday with multiple Kansas City area competitors advancing to Saturday’s semifinals.
In Class 2 singles, Park Hill South’s Eva Kresovic won her quarterfinals match against Mirra Manolov of Columbia Hickman 6-0, 6-2 to move on to the semifinals.
Class 1 singles quarterfinals action saw Adella Castaner of Pembroke Hill through to the Saturday’s semifinals after a 6-2, 6-4 win over Lily Walther of John Burroughs.
Two area teams advanced to the Class 1 doubles semifinals. Hannah Tadros and Helene Bergere of Barstow moved on, along with Lynne Li and Jean Li of Pembroke Hill.
