The Star’s high school athletes of the week (May 21)

Abbie Hair

SCHOOL: Bishop Miege

YEAR: Senior

SPORT: Soccer

Hair came back from an injury to lead the Stags to a 10-0 victory against KC Christian last week with four goals. The Benedictine College signee also added two assists during the week to help Bishop Miege qualify for regionals.

Christopher Nilsen

SCHOOL: Park Hill

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Track and field

Nilsen recorded the state’s top pole vault mark this season — an even 16 feet — en route to winning the Missouri Class 5, District 8 championship last weekend. For good measure, he added the high jump district title, too, when he cleared the bar at 6 feet, 2 inches.
