KC area high school football schedule for Sept. 19-20
Here are two games in the spotlight on Friday’s Kansas City area high school football schedule:
LEE’S SUMMIT (3-1) AT BLUE SPRINGS (3-1)
Lee's Summit lost only two football games in 2013. They were both to Blue Springs. The margin of victory was 42 points each time.
A common early-season opponent suggests Lee's Summit has an opportunity for payback this season. Fort Osage has accounted for both teams' only defeat this season. The Indians beat Blue Springs by 14 points and Lee's Summit by just three.
Lee's Summit keeps no secrets about its preference to pass the ball, and yet MU-bound quarterback Drew Lock continues to carve up secondaries. He has 15 touchdowns versus only one interception this season while averaging 260 yards per game.
Blue Springs can sling it, too. Ian Brown threw five touchdowns in a win against St. Joseph Central last week — three of them to Terrance Sanders, whose stock is on a quick ascendance.

OLATHE SOUTH (2-0) at OLATHE NORTH (2-0)
The Olathe District Activity Center will be rocking on Friday night when these area rivals take the field at 7 p.m. Both teams enter the game with a 2-0 record and 1-0 mark in the highly competitive Sunflower League.
Olathe South is already in the rivalry groove, having posted a 46-17 victory against Olathe East last week. Olathe North, on the other hand, has won two close games in the first two weeks. The Eagles overcame a 7-0 halftime deficit in defeating Lawrence Free State 14-7 last week.
