THE STAR’S ALL-METRO GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM
FIRST TEAM
Morgan Fleming; Liberty; junior
The Blue Jays’ top scorer averaged 15.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while helping Liberty to a second-place finish in Missouri Class 5. She reached the 1,000-point milestone this season.
Madeline Homoly; Bishop Miege; senior
The Eastern Kansas League’s player of the year led the Stags to a 25-0 record and second consecutive Kansas Class 4A Division I state title. The South Dakota signee averaged a double-double, with 17 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Tyler Johnson; Leavenworth; senior
The 2015 DiRenna Award girls winner and Kansas signee led the Pioneers to their second consecutive Kansas Class 5A state title. She led the team, which featured three Division I signees, with 11 points per game.
Cloe’ Lane; Blue Springs South; senior
Lane is the school’s all-time leading scorer. She averaged 17.4 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from the floor. She added six rebounds, 2.3 blocks and two steals per contest on her way to a fourth straight all-conference selection.
Madison Piper; Lawrence Free State; sophomore
Although she is only in her second year with the Firebirds, Piper was selected the Sunflower League’s player of the year. She averaged 17 points and seven rebounds per game.
