St. Pius X loses in third-place game of Missouri Class 2 girls soccer

Duchesne scored two second-half goals to beat St. Pius X 3-2 in the Class 2 consolation game at Swope Soccer Village on Thursday.

St. Pius X scored first on a goal from Sophia Cissell in the 8th minute. Duchesne got the equalizer one minute later, but St. Pius X took a 2-1 lead into halftime when Lexie Moore scored on an assist from Kathryn Pearson in the 32nd minute.

Duchesne, 13-11, tied it again with a goal in the 56th minute and took the lead for good when Maria Wilder scored her second goal on a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

St. Pius X went to the state tournament for a third consecutive time. St. Pius X finished the season 19-8.
