Regional track meet determines who goes on to state

Gardner Edgerton won the boys team title and Olathe Northwest took the girls crown at last Thursday’s Kansas Class 6A regional track meet at the Olathe District Activities Center.

Gardner Edgerton’s boys took first with 128 points, followed by runner-up Olathe South with 96. Gardner Edgerton had five individual champions among its 12 qualifiers and one relay that advanced to the state meet this weekend in Wichita.

Olathe Northwest finished with 127 points in the girls standings to beat Olathe South, which scored 100. Olathe Northwest had five champions and qualified 13 individuals and three relays for the state meet.
