William Chrisman football coach Scorpio Horn leaves for job on Missouri Western staff
Scorpio Horn is returning to his alma mater.
Horn said Monday that he will step down as the William Chrisman football coach to accept a position on the Missouri Western staff.
Horn piloted a remarkable turnaround at William Chrisman over the past three seasons. The Bears finished 1-9 in his first year, 4-7 in his second and 8-2 in his final season this fall.
“It hurts to leave Chrisman because I know they’re going to be successful, but this is truly a dream come true,” Horn said. “It’s one step closer of my goal, which is to be coaching in the NFL some day.”
Horn will serve as the defensive line coach under new head coach Matt Williamson at Missouri Western. Williamson was hired earlier this month.
Horn, a Blue Springs High School graduate, played at Missouri Western, where Williamson was his defensive line coach.
Horn will start his new job on Dec. 23.
“To go back and support him after the time he invested in me, it’s a great opportunity,” Horn said. “It was too good to pass up.”
