What’s inside KC’s massive FIFA Fan Fest World Cup store? Soccer from wall to wall

The Kansas City World Cup Fan Festival has been one of the main attractions for soccer fans here since the massive international soccer tournament kicked off in early June.

For those unable to attend games at Kansas City (Arrowhead) Stadium, the free-to-enter festival offers local and traveling spectators a place to gather during the World Cup. Fans can watch games on the festival’s 4,200-square-foot main stage screen, attend live musical performances or enjoy food from more than 20 local vendors.

One of the festival’s main attractions is the FIFA store, an 8,000-square-foot indoor facility on the east side of the grounds. Set up in a large tent, the store sells a variety of World Cup merchandise, ranging from men’s and women’s apparel and team-branded hats to novelty items like FIFA Plusies, Rubik’s Cubes and disposable rain gear.

One of the most popular items in the store is the official FIFA World Cup jersey, priced at $129.99 for adults and $109.99 for kids. The jerseys range from host nations USA, Mexico, and Canada to other popular participating countries, including Argentina, Brazil and Portugal.

Other items in the store run from the inexpensive — like $5 collectible stickers and magnets — to the more lavish, such as official FIFA soccer balls for $200 and miniature replicas of the World Cup trophy for $250.

Aside from shopping, some festival patrons sought relief from the heat inside the facility. Customers also use the air-conditioned facility to rest after hours of walking the festival grounds, or to pose for pictures with various models dressed in World Cup merchandise around the store.

The FIFA store and the rest of the Kansas City World Cup Fan Fest will be open during the remaining two Kansas City match-day periods, July 3-5 and July 9-11.
