The World Cup is just weeks away from its start in Kansas City, and the excitement is building across the metro.

Several local brands have released limited edition clothing, accessories and food inspired by the countries making their base camps in Kansas City as well as the teams playing matches at Arrowhead — known as Kansas City Stadium during the World Cup.

Countries featured in the special releases include Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Curaçao, England, Ecuador, Netherlands, Tunisia and, of course, the United States.

André’s Confiserie Suisse

André’s chocolate, a Kansas City staple since 1955, has created several soccer-themed treats for the World Cup, ranging mostly from $6.25 to $20.

A standout in the selection is the global bar collection ($10 each), inspired by the ingredients of the countries staying and playing in KC like dulce de leche in milk chocolate for Argentina and passion fruit in 72% dark chocolate for Ecuador.

The local ice cream franchise launched the “World Cone” on the eight “World Class Flavors” that celebrate each of the teams and will be available at all Betty Rae’s locations in early June.

Unique ice cream flavors include Baklava (honey ice cream with phyllo dough, almond paste and crushed almonds) for Algeria and Sachertote (chocolate ice cream with chocolate sponge cake and an apricot swirl) for Austria. Pints are $8.99 but can be found at some locations for $6.99.

Betty Rae’s will also be selling limited-edition goblets, pint glasses, hats and T-shirts as part of the “World Cone” team.

Boulevard Brewing

Local beer company Boulevard Brewing has rebranded its Space Camper IPA for the event, calling it the Star Striker. Space Camper teamed up with the Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation. The 5.5% beer is brewed with New Zealand hops and has flavors of citrus zest, tropical fruit, and bright and punchy aromatics.

“Whether you are cheering from home base or packed into a watch party, Star Striker is your ticket to glory,” Boulevard’s website said.

Charlie Hustle

Local apparel brand Charlie Hustle has designed two types of shirts for the World Cup. Each team gets their own shirt with their flag next to the United States. The name of the country is in big letters and Kansas City on the bottom. The second collection is a rendition of the iconic heart KC logo. All shirts are $38.

It also released shirts and a hoodie with all eight flags that say Soccer City USA. They range between $32 and $56.

Cookie Bliss KC

Cookie Bliss KC announced a line of custom cookies made specifically for the teams making Kansas City home base this summer for the World Cup.

The cookie business in Kansas City’s Northland has the option to design custom cookie sets for each of the teams with a base camp in KC, each upcoming match and general World Cup designs. Sets come in half-dozens and include designs like a soccer ball, a flag, celebratory sayings in the language and a jersey, according to its website.

Half-dozen normal size custom cookies cost $23.50, and the custom mini cookies cost $24.75 for 11. Cookies are available for pre-order and for walk-in purchase during June and July at 3518 NE Vivion Road.

EB and Co

The jewelry and accessory brand has released a few World Cup team-themed items, like the Golden Goals Charm Bracelet ($24), charm necklaces ($22). Both come in versions for the United States, Argentina and England versions.

Russell Stover Chocolates

Russell Stover Chocolates released a limited edition “Soccer Capital of America” heart box, a redesign of the brand’s heart-shaped chocolate box in collaboration with Sporting KC.

The new edition of the boxes are filled with 3.6 ounces of individually wrapped crispies and honey caramels in milk chocolate ($8.99). It is available exclusively at the Kansas City marketplace and Russell Stover’s website.

Sandlot Goods Co.

The locally made clothing brand dropped a Summer of Soccer line of seven shirts and tote bags for the World Cup.

One of the shirt design lines are for Argentina, Algeria and the Netherlands with shirt color being their dominant flag color and Kansas City is written across the front. The second is a global soccer shirt. Both options are $28, according to its website.

Also included in the Summer of Soccer line are two tote bag designs ($38).

Shatto Milk Company

Osborn-based milk company Shatto launched a line of milkshake milk inspired by each of the countries, like cherry vanilla milkshake for Algeria and salted caramel milk for the World Cup.

Shatto is also releasing limited edition world cow bottles for the eight countries playing in Kansas City. The set of nine (including a welcome soccer bottle) come empty and are available for preorder now on Shatto’s website. The company has also released a series of World Cup products with the Shatto cow including hats, shirts, tote bags, glasses and stickers which range between $3.95 and $27.95.

The special milk editions are available at grocery stores, Shatto Milk Country Store and Shatto Home Delivery.
