This might be the most-kissed trophy in sports.

After Argentina won the 2022 World Cup, Lionel Messi puckered up when he saw the championship trophy. Likewise, French star Kylian Mbappé smooched it after winning the 2018 World Cup.

Soccer fans in Kansas City won’t be able to kiss the trophy, but it will be in town this weekend.

The trophy will be behind glass when it’s on display at the Power & Light District, 50 East 13th Street, on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It’s part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola that is winding its way through Mexico, Canada and the United States.

Fans snapped up all the free tickets after the tour stop in Kansas City was announced, but organizers said walk-ups are sometimes allowed.

FIFA said the trophy weighs roughly 13 1/2 pounds. The bottom disc of the trophy is removable and after each World Cup it is placed in FIFA’s museum. A new disc is made with all the winners since 1974, when the new trophy was introduced.

Kansas City will play host to six World Cup matches, including a Round-of-32 match and a quarterfinal game.
