Young KC residents can be a flag bearer during FIFA World Cup matches. Here’s how
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City is offering one young fan a once-in-a-lifetime experience: the ability to be on the field during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A local teen will serve as an official flag bearer during one of the six Kansas City matches through a partnership between the chamber and Coca-Cola. The chamber has not said which match will be chosen as of Tuesday, March 17.
Children between the ages of 13 and 17 can submit a nomination to be entered into a raffle. All nominations must be submitted by 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, and interested participants can apply online.
From all eligible submissions, only five will be randomly selected as finalists. The selected finalists will participate in an interview with members of the HCCGKC World Cup Committee, where one flag bearer will be chosen.
The person picked to be a flag bearer will also be able to bring one adult guest and will receive an official uniform to wear during the match.
“This extraordinary experience — generously provided by Coca‑Cola — places a young person on the world stage, representing our community, our culture, and the excitement of Kansas City as a 2026 host city,” The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City said in a statement.
