UMKC cruises to 75-58 victory over Texas-Rio Grande Valley
UMKC turned in strong performances on defense and on the boards in a dominating 75-58 win over Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Saturday at Municipal Auditorium.
The 58 points by the Vaqueros were the fewest the Kangaroos, 10-15 overall and 3-7 in the Western Athletic Conference, have given up this season. UMKC also outrebounded Texas-Rio Grande Valley 41-24 and had 21 offensive rebounds.
“I was really proud about the improvement from last game to this game.” UMKC coach Kareem Richardson said.
“Defensively we played with great effort, and we were on the floor diving for loose balls.”
Dashawn King scored 17 points, Kyle Steward added 15 and Shayok Shayok had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Kangaroos.
