UMKC snaps five-game losing streak by beating Chicago State

It had been some time since UMKC’s men’s basketball team celebrated a victory. But the Kangaroos finally got the opportunity on Saturday.

Kyle Steward added 12 points and a career-best 11 rebounds, and Grant Leach made four threes and scored a career-high 12 points for UMKC. The Kangaroos made 51 percent of their shots in the game.

Martez Harrison entered the game third in the WAC in scoring at 15.7 points per game, but he scored only five points against the Cougars. Harrison did have seven assists in the game.
