UMKC-Nebraska-Omaha men’s basketball preview

OUTLOOK: Downtown Kansas City will be packed with hoops with Kansas-Utah tipping off at the Sprint Center 10 minutes after this one starts. UMKC seeks its first victory over a Division I program since beating Missouri in the opener. The Kangaroos are playing solid defense, leading the Western Athletic Conference in turnover margin at plus-3.8 and is second in steals with 9.8 per game. Guard Martez Harrison leads UMKC at 16.4 points per game. Nebraska-Omaha has defeated Marquette and Nevada this season. Guard CJ Carter averages 15.5 points per game. Last season, the Mavericks won 101-71 in Kansas City. This marks UMKC’s third home game and second at Municipal this season.
