KC Roos women’s team falls to Omaha in first round of Summit League hoops tourney
The Kansas City Roos women’s basketball team’s season came to an end on Friday.
Kansas City, seeded No. 8, fell to No. 9 seed Omaha 61-56 in the Summit League tourney in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Roos finished the season with a record of 12-20.
Kansas City had beaten Omaha twice during the regular season and stayed close on Friday but could not beat Omaha for a third time.
Omaha pushed its record to 8-22 and will face South Dakota State in the tournament quarterfinals.
Emani Bennett led the Roos on Friday with 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field. She also pulled down five rebounds. Dominique Phillips added 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
