Kansas City Roos hold on for road win over Lindenwood behind some hot outside shooting
The Kansas City Roos men’s basketball team took to the 3-ball on Saturday. And the 3-ball took to them.
The Roos made 14 of 28 3-point shots and held on for a 72-67 victory over Lindenwood in St. Charles, Missouri.
Cameron Faas got all of his 18 points on 3-pointers: Faas made 6 of 10 3-point shots as Kansas City improved to 4-6 on the season.
Anderson Kopp matched Faas with 18 points of his own (3-for-5 on 3-pointers) for Kansas City, which outscored Lindenwood 22-15 in closing out the game after trailing 52-50 with 8 minutes, 57 seconds left.
Kopp hauled in a team-high eight rebounds and had five assists. Khristion Courseault scored nine points and had a team-high seven assists for the Roos.
Kansas City and Lindenwood were knotted at 28-28 at halftime, and there were 11 lead changes and 13 ties in the game.
Darius Beane dropped in 22 points and added six rebounds for Lindenwood, which fell to 3-6 on the season.
The Roos were coming off Tuesday’s 88-69 defeat at the Kansas Jayhawks.
Kansas City is set to play host to Tabor on Tuesday at Swinney Center, with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
