Kansas City Roos men’s basketball is on a roll.

In the span of nine days, the Roos have completed sweeps of two different Summit League teams, good for a four-game winning streak.

Marvin Nesbitt Jr. once again led the way for KC on Tuesday night. Nesbitt scored 22 points and the Roos beat St. Thomas 76-67 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Ross had taken care of St. Thomas back in Kansas City at Swinney Center on Thursday night, 81-72. Kansas City also beat Western Illinois twice last week: 83-75 at Macomb, Illinois, on Jan. 31 and 91-82 on Saturday at home.

In Saturday’s victory, it was also Nesbitt who paced the Roos. He dropped in 26 points in that one.

With the four straight wins, Kansas City pushed its record to 16-9 overall and 9-4 in the Summit. St. Paul, meanwhile, dropped to 8-15, 2-9.

The Roos trailed by two at the half but once again put up big numbers after the break, outscoring the Tommies 46-35.

Nesbitt got his 22 points on 8-14 shooting from the field, and he made all six of his tries from the free-throw line. Evan Gilyard II made all 10 of his free throws on way to 18 points.

Kansas City was frigid from deep. The Roos made just 1 of 10 three-pointers. But they made up for it on the boards, out-rebounding St. Thomas 38-33.

Ryan Lindberg scored 19 for the Tommies.

The Roos are set to be back in action Saturday against Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Kansas City has some avenging to do, as Oral Roberts took the first matchup 84-72 on Jan. 15 at Swinney.
