UMKC unable to catch up to Morehead State
UMKC is having a hard time getting its first victory on the season.
That trend continued Thursday as the Kangaroos fell to Morehead State 99-89 in Cheney, Wash. The game was part of the 2K Classic Benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.
With the loss, UMKC dropped to 0-4 on the season.
UMKC outscored Morehead State 50-37 in the second half, but the Kangaroos were trying to recover from a 62-39 halftime deficit.
Xavier Bishop had 23 points, five rebounds and six assists for UMKC.
A.J. Hicks scored a game-high 28 points for Morehead State, which made 15 of 26 three-point shots (57.7 percent).
UMKC will face Eastern Washington on Saturday in Cheney.
