UMKC drops home decision to Omaha
The UMKC men’s basketball team lost their first home game of the season on Thursday.
The Kangaroos dropped to 7-5 overall on the season with an 80-75 loss to Omaha at Municipal Auditorium in a game that featured eight ties and six lead changes.
LaVell Boyd scored a career-high 27 points for UMKC in the loss. He made 9 of his 20 shots from the field, including 2 of 7 from beyond the arc. Isaiah Ross added 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting. No other Kanagroo player finished in double figures.
Marcus Tyus led Omaha (6-5) with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting and Zach Jackson added 15.
UMKC will travel to West Virginia on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tipoff before hosting UT Martin on Tuesday.
