Missouri men’s basketball in 2019 will continue its tradition of playing every four years in the CBE Classic at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

The Tigers — who also participated in the 2015, 2011 and 2007 CBE Classics as well as tourney’s precursor, the Guardians Classic, in 2004 and 2001 — already have agreed to participate in the 2019 event, which has scheduled its semifinal and championships rounds for Nov. 25-26.

The two preliminary round games on Mizzou’s campus will be played during Nov. 15-22 that season.

Mizzou lost to Kansas State and Northwestern in last fall’s CBE Classic. Kansas, Georgia, George Washington and Alabama-Birmingham are in this year’s field.

Meanwhile, the Missouri women’s inaugural appearance in this year’s Preseason Women’s NIT won’t be the only major event for the team in November. The Tigers also will participate in the Grand Bahamas Junkanoo Jam, which is scheduled for Nov. 23-27.

Coach Robin Pingeton’s squad also will host Central Missouri on Nov. 1, Truman State on Nov. 7, Indiana State on Nov. 22, Western Illinois on Nov. 29, Wichita State on Dec. 9, Tennessee-Martin on Dec. 17 and California-Riverside on Dec. 19.

Mizzou’s women, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006 and won a tourney game for the first time since 2001 last season, will play IUPUI on Dec. 4 and at Saint Louis on Dec. 21.

As The Star reported in February, Missouri’s men play in the Puerto Rico Tip-off in November 2016, the Old Spice Classic in Orlando during November 2017 and the Paradise Island Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands during November 2018 before returning to the CBE Classic.
