Mizzou releases part of 2016-17 nonconference men’s basketball schedule
The Missouri men’s basketball team released part of its nonconference schedule for the 2016-17 season Tuesday.
The Tigers will open the season with a Nov. 4 exhibition at Mizzou Arena vs. an opponent to be determined. The regular season opens Nov. 11.
Next comes a previously reported trip to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off in San Juan for three games Nov. 17-18 and 20. The bracket is to be announced but the field also consists of Arizona State, Clemson, Davidson, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma, Tulane and Xavier.
That trip is followed by home games against Northwestern State, on either Nov. 25 or 26, Western Kentucky on Dec. 3, Miami (Ohio) on Dec. 6, Arizona on Dec. 10 and Eastern Illinois on Dec. 17.
The annual Braggin’ Rights Game against Illinois will be Dec. 21 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. The other nonconference game announced was a Dec. 29 home matchup against Lipscomb.
The Tigers, according to Tuesday’s release, are looking to finalize two more nonconference home games. A source told The Star in February that MU’s season-opening opponent would be Evansville.
