▪ ABOUT MISSOURI (10-18, 3-12 SEC): The Tigers were tied with Texas A&M more than 5 minutes into the second half Jan. 23 against in College Station, Texas. Ultimately, the Aggies prevailed 66-53, but it was by no means a runaway victory. Of course, Wes Clark led the charge for Mizzou with 12 points and nine rebounds in that game. He’s since been dismissed and freshman guard Cullen VanLeer with be a game-time decision with a left shoulder injury, putting pressure on sophomore Namon Wright and freshmen Terrence Phillips and K.J. Walton to pick up the perimeter scoring slack.
▪ ABOUT TEXAS A&M (21-7, 10-5 SEC): The Aggies must win to stay in the hunt for the SEC championship. Coach Billy Kennedy’s squad managed to upend the Tigers without freshman forward Tyler Davis last time as 6-foot-7 seniors Jalen Jones and Danuel House combined for 37 points. Davis’ presence on the block ups the ante, especially on defense, for Missouri senior forward Ryan Rosburg. He and freshman forward Kevin Puryear combined for 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting with 10 rebounds in Davis’ absence and will need to be at least as good in the rematch.
