Missouri landed Cale Garrett on Saturday, convincing the Kearney linebacker to switch his commitment from the U.S. Naval Academy.

Garrett announced his decision on Twitter, calling Mizzou “the school of my dreams.”

He finished with 160 tackles, including 21 for a loss, last fall and is the all-time leading tackler at Kearney, which won the Missouri Class 4 state championship last season.

In addition to Missouri and Navy, Garrett — a 6-foot-3, 220-pound Rivals three-star prospect — also had an offer from Bowling Green along a handful of FCS programs, including North Dakota, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State and Western Illinois.

He’s listed as having an offer from Kansas by 247 Sports, which also rates him as a three-star prospect.

Garrett was ranked as the No. 13 player in Missouri for the 2016 recruiting class by Rivals. Scout pegs him as a two-star recruit. He’s not rated by ESPN.

Garrett is the 18th known commitment for the Tigers and the second linebacker, joining Trey Baldwin from Cypress Falls High near Houston. Baldwin enrolled at Mizzou for the spring semester.

National signing day is Wednesday.
