Missouri sophomore guard Tramaine Isabell was suspended Saturday before the game against Mississippi State at Mizzou Arena.

According to a statement from Mizzou athletics, “Tramaine will rejoin the team when he is able to improve his practice attitude and conduct.”

It is Isabell’s third suspension in two season with the Tigers.

“I’ve had some great conversations with him,” Missouri coach Kim Anderson said. “My responsibility is to help him grow as a person. I still believe he’s doing that. I’ll continue to do that as long as I’m the coach. I would anticipate him coming back. I know he’ll come back. The question is when, and that decision will be made by me.”

Isabell, a 6-foot backup point guard from Seattle, is averages 5.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game with 23 assists and 25 turnovers in 18 games this season.

He bumped his average to 8.0 points, which ranked fourth on Mizzou, and 2.2 rebounds in conference play, but Isabell had not played in the previous two games — losses at Texas A&M and Kentucky.

Isabell was suspended for parts of six games last season.

He was suspended for the first half Jan. 17 against Tennessee for poor practice performance, Missouri coach Kim Anderson said last year.

Anderson later suspended Isabell for five games for unacceptable “behavior toward our coaches and teammates.” The second suspension lasted from Feb. 1-17.

After CBC graduate decided to transfer from Texas earlier this month, Missouri is over-signed by one scholarship player for the 2016-17 season.

When asked about the Tigers’ scholarship on Monday, Anderson said he wasn’t worried.

“No, not really,” he said. “It’ll work out. Trust me.”
