▪ ABOUT MISSOURI (8-12, 1-6 SEC): The Tigers host the Bulldogs in a meeting of two of the three SEC teams currently below .500 on the season. Arkansas, which won at Mizzou Arena by 33 on Jan. 12, is the other. The game serves as the third annual Coaches vs. Cancer White Out Game. “White Out Cancer” shirts are available at the Tiger Team Store on the north end of Memorial Stadium for $10. Missouri lost 52-43 at Mississippi State in the regular-season finale last year.
▪ ABOUT MISSISSIPPI STATE (8-11, 1-6 SEC): The Bulldogs’ conference record is deceptive. First-year coach Ben Howland’s squad played Texas A&M within a point, lost by six at Kentucky and lost by three at Florida. Mississippi State has been competitive. Mississippi State has knocked off Missouri each of the last two seasons, including a 77-74 win last season Mizzou Arena behind then-junior Craig Sword’s 22 points, but the Bulldogs remain 1-3 all-time in Columbia. Howland’s crew is 1-6 on the road, including an 0-4 record in conference, and lost at UMKC on Dec. 12.
