Travel issues push back Shane Ray’s draft announcement
Missouri pushed back Shane Ray’s news conference from Tuesday to Wednesday because of travel delays.
Ray, a junior defensive end, is expected to announce that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2015 NFL Draft.
Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to file declaration papers with the league, which will release a list of early entries Jan. 19.
He will make “an announcement,” according to release from MU Athletics, at 1 p.m. today.
More schedule changes
Missouri also announced Tuesday that it was pushing back the induction date for the University of Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2014 to Feb. 13 in the Columns Club at Memorial Stadium.
Former Tigers football stars Chase Daniel, Jeremy Maclin and Chase Coffman are among six athletes scheduled for induction along with baseball pitcher John Dettmer, track/cross country runner Ashley Patten and gymnast Alisha Robinson.
The celebration, which begins with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m., is open to the public. Tickets cost $30 are available at www.TSF-Mizzou.com/HOF.
Aggies hire Christensen
Texas A&M officially announced that Dave Christensen had been hired as offensive-line coach and run-game coordinator.
Christensen was Missouri’s offensive-line coach during 2001-08 before accepting the head coaching job at Wyoming, where he went 27-35 in five seasons.
Christensen, who spent last season as Utah’s offensive coordinator, also worked on Missouri coach Gary Pinkel’s staff at Toledo.
