MU notes: Deuce Bello suspended indefinitely

First half

Key play: Keith Shamburger’s steal and dive into the broadcast table for the save that started a fast break basket by Jakeenan Gant symbolized the Tigers’ first-half energy.

Key stat: Missouri had three baskets in the game’s first 10 minutes, all on offensive rebounds.

Second half

Key play: Tramaine Isabell knocked down a three-pointer with less than one second remaining to force overtime.

Key stat: Oklahoma State went to the line five times in the first half. The Pokes were 16 of 24 from the stripe in the second half. Missouri went to the line nine times in the second half.

Overtime

Key play: It almost worked. The offensive rebound off the missed free throw. But D’Angelo Allen couldn’t finish at the basket to seal the outcome.

Key stat: Phil Forte finished with three steals, none bigger than his swipe of Isabell, going to the basket with Missouri trailing by one with about 12 seconds remaining.

Bello suspended

Deuce Bello was suspended indefinitely by coach Kim Anderson for academic issues. Anderson didn’t elaborate. Bello, a transfer from Baylor, is a defensive specialist who is averaging 2.9 points in 10.7 minutes.
