Mizzou flips East St. Louis guard Tre’vour Simms from Illinois commitment
Missouri received the second commitment of the Barry Odom era Monday when East St. Louis (Ill.) guard Tre’vour Simms switched his commitment from Illinois to the Tigers.
Simms, who confirmed his Missouri commitment with Power Mizzou, played right tackle for the Flyers. He visited Columbia last weekend.
Simms is a 6-foot-3, 317-pound three-star Rivals recruit, who is ranked No. 30 in Illinois.
He also had an offer from Syracuse.
ESPN, Scout.com and 247 Sports also list Simms as a three-star recruit. ESPN ranks Simms No. 20 in Illinois.
South Oak Cliff defensive end Marvin Terry from Dallas was the first commitments under Odom, who was hired Dec. 4 as former Missouri coach Gary Pinkel’s successor.
Pinkel announced Nov. 13 he had follicular lymphoma and would resign after the season.
Simms in the fourth offensive line commitment in the Tigers’ 2016 recruiting class. He joins Trystan Castillo from Webb City (Mo.) High, Royce Newman from Nashville (Ill.) High and Mackenzie Nworah from Manvel (Texas) High.
